Desert Medical Imaging (DMI) is a multimodality diagnostic imaging center. Three DMI affiliate MRI centers are accredited by the American College of Radiology. DMI started providing services to the Coachella Valley in September 1998, at its Indian Wells, California, location, and now provides services not only in Indian Wells, but also in Indio and Palm Springs.

We are committed to providing same-day appointments, 24-hour report turnaround, imaging availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, patient transportation when needed, and on-site transcription and billing. Our staff includes licensed technologists, a highly valuable and valued friendly, bilingual staff and Board-certified radiologists headed up by our Medical Director, Dr. John F. Feller.

John F. Feller, M.D.

Dr. Feller completed his undergraduate training in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Notre Dame (1978-1982), graduating cum laude. He then attended the Ohio State University School of Medicine (1983-1987), graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Feller subsequently completed four years of postgraduate medical training at Stanford University School of Medicine(1987-1991), culminating in Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology. Following Fellowship training in orthopedic and body MRI (1992), Dr. Feller became Chief of MRI at David Grant USAF Medical Center, a position he maintained for four years (1992-1996).

Dr. Feller currently is Medical Director of Desert Medical Imaging, The PET/CT Center, Desert Medical Imaging of Indio and Desert Medical Imaging of Palm Springs, and is the MRI Consulting Radiologist for Desert Orthopedic Center. He maintains an academic affiliation with Stanford University where he is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Radiology (1991-present). Dr. Feller has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and is an editor of the textbook Shoulder Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He has given over 200 invited lectures worldwide on orthopedic and body MR imaging, as well as on positron emission tomography (PET/CT).

DMI provides high field and open magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), spiral computed tomography (CT) imaging, ultrasound, and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging.
