Physicians' Background
Cardiology
Emanuel Shaoulian, M.D.
Dr. Emanuel Shaoulian graduated from Israel's Sackler School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate training at Beth Israel Hospital and St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York City. He is board-certified in general and interventional cardiology as well as in critical care medicine. He served as director of interventional cardiology at St. Vincent's Hospital and at the Heart Institute of the Desert in Rancho Mirage, California. He is currently serving as director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at UC Irvine Medical Center. An experienced researcher, Dr. Shaoulian is also interested in cardiac and vascular imaging via angiographic, magnetic resonance, and ultrasonographic methods.
Cardiology
Michael Radin, M.D.
Dr. Michael Radin is a graduate of Columbia University and the Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his cardiac electrophysiology training at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles and at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology, Dr. Radin is the former director of cardiac electrophysiology at the Heart Institute of the Desert in Rancho Mirage, California. He has been involved in numerous clinical trials, particularly in the field of implantable defibrillators. Experienced in arrhythmia management, Dr. Radin is also interested in the utility of magnetic resonance imaging for ischemia detection as well as assessment of myocardial viability.
Nuclear Medicine
Samuel L. Kipper, M.D.
Dr. Samuel L. Kipper is a nationally recognized nuclear medicine physician. For more than 18 years, he served as medical director of nuclear medicine at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California, with a clinical professorship at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Kipper completed a pediatric residency with hematology-oncology fellowship training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, and he completed his residency training in nuclear medicine at UCSD. His areas of expertise include PET imaging, myocardial perfusion imaging, and infectious disease imaging. He is one of a few dedicated nuclear medicine specialists whose interests lie solely in nuclear medicine. While at Pacific Coast Imaging, Dr. Kipper has developed new techniques and uses for PET-CT and ProstaScint-MRI fusion imaging. He has also been the principal investigator in a wide range of clinical trials and research studies.
