At Virtual Imaging in Atlanta, we use an Electron Beam Computed Tomography (EBCT) machine without IV contrast. We are completely non invasive and screen for a Coronary Calcium score (Heart Scan) which is considered the #1 predictor of heart disease today. That screening is extremely accurate without contrast. An angiogram would require injecting a contrast dye for an even more accurate view of the coronary arteries.
